A Reus, "ganxets" 'In Reus "the hooks"'

El dia de la inauguració del campanar de Reus, els seus veïns hi pengen un ase d'un ganxo perquè pugui veure i admirar la magnitud de l'obra. Hi deixen el ganxo per si mai convé penjar-hi un altre ase. Per això, els de Reus es diuen "ganxets" i, també per això, es diu "A Reus, enganxen".

Un gandul agafà un ocell i aquest li va concedir un desig a canvi de la llibertat. El gandul li demanà tenir un nas de tres pams de llarg. Se'n va anar a veure el rei i pel camí trobà tres bruixes que li feren tres regals: un mocador que li donà menjar, una barretina que disparava bombes i un flabiol que feia que la gent es posés a ballar i no pogués deixar de fer-ho fins que parés la música. Amb aquests objectes màgics, el gandul derrotà un altre monarca que es volia casar amb la filla del rei. D’aquesta manera, aconsegueix casar-se ell amb la filla del rei. Disgustat per tenir per gendre un gandul amb un nas tan estrany, el rei mor i el gandul esdevé rei.

He went to see the king and on his way he meets three witches, who make him three gifts: a handkerchief that gives him food, a hat that shoots bombs and a pipe that made to people dance and did not allow them to stop until the music ended. With the magical objects, the idler defeats another monarch, who wanted to marry the king’s daughter. By this he manages to marry the king’s daughter. Upset about having a son-in-law with such a strange nose the king dies and the idler becomes king.
