Neutral assertion

When you want to give information to a person you can use a declarative sentence. For example, "Joan and Núria are work mates and they are talking about their other collegues".

Nuria has found out that Marina, her boss, lives in Barcelona and she tells this to Joan.

Núria: La Marina viu a Barcelona.

Practice.

Now, pronounce the sentence with the same declarative intonation. Imagine that you are talking with a friend. You are talking about your work mates and you say to him La "Marina viu a prop del Carrer Major". After saying it, listen how it is pronounced.

Now imagine that you are talking to some colleagues you have just met. They are asking you where are you from and you answer them "Sóc de Màlaga". After saying it, listen how it is pronounced.
Now imagine that you have been asked what do you like for breakfast. You answer “M’agraden les torrades”. After saying it, listen how it is pronounced.

Imagine that you are talking to your cousin, who you see occasionally. You are talking about what are you going to do in Summer, and you are telling him that you are planning to go to Sardegna. He asks you in which part of Sardegna and you answer "A la Costa Esmeralda”.
